Dr. Darin L. Cash, Bass Trombone, is a native of Texas and holds Doctorate of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Trombone Performance from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from The University of Texas at Arlington. He performs on tenor and bass trombone in a variety of musical settings throughout the Southwest, and maintains a successful private studio in Lubbock. Dr. Cash performs on second trombone with the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale, and held the position of second/assistant principal trombone with the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra from 2004-2011. He was a first runner-up in the International Trombone Association Frank Smith solo competition, and a finalist and prize winner in the Zellmer-Minnesota Orchestra Trombone competition. As an educator, Dr. Cash has held positions on the music faculties of The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, and Georgia State University in Atlanta. He currently lives in Lubbock with his wife pianist Carla Davis Cash and their two young sons.
