Mission

The mission of the Symphony Debutante program is to provide an environment for music appreciation, to recognize the value of volunteer service in promoting symphonic music, and to cultivate a generation of symphony patrons.

Eligibility

Since 1980, the Lubbock Symphony Guild has proudly offered its Debutante program to young women who reside in the Lubbock County area. Program applicants who do not reside in the Lubbock County area will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the standing Deb Committee for acceptance into the Symphony Guild Debutante Program.

The Debutante program is a three-year program, beginning when the young woman enters the tenth grade and culminating her senior year with a formal presentation at the Symphony Guild’s Annual Winter Ball. Participants volunteer at Lubbock Symphony Orchestra events throughout their three-year experience.

Application submission for participation must be received by August 15th of the year the young woman enters tenth grade.
