Masterworks

The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra performs five classical “Masterworks” concerts per season. These concerts feature pieces by well-known composers from throughout the history of classical and symphonic music. One concert per season will showcase notable Opera music as well. “Masterworks” are performed by our full symphony orchestra, oftentimes alongside acclaimed guest artists that you won’t want to miss!

The Lubbock Chamber Orchestra is a premier ensemble within the Lubbock Symphony organization that features a seasoned roster of our area’s most accomplished musicians. The orchestra is distinguished locally for championing a unique repertoire that includes classical orchestral favorites, virtuosic solo concerti, and captivating chamber works of varied instrumentation. Through inclusive approaches with its distinct programs, the orchestra aims to cultivate a love of art music for generations to come.

Our Sound! concerts showcase a mix of eclectic chamber music by historical & contemporary composers of various music genres. These concerts take place with a smaller orchestra at the LHUCA Icehouse Theater, an industrial-style space with configurable loose seating. Theatrical lighting equipment rigged in the space creates a unique atmosphere that complements the performance.
